The Sanctuary Choir is a large, mixed choir comprised of singers with various backgrounds in choral music. The choir sings a wide variety of music, both sacred and secular. Sanctuary Choir is open to members and friends of the church of all ages and abilities – no formal choral experience is needed. The Sanctuary Choir provides music for Sunday service twice a month, one as its own ensemble, the other participating in the All Comers Choir. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. in the church sanctuary.
The Chamber Singers is a small, experienced mixed choir of 16 to 24 singers that explores music across a wide range of styles and time periods, from Renaissance music to that of Bach, Mozart, and Mendelssohn to contemporary choral music. The Chamber Singers provide music for two Sunday services, once as its own ensemble, the other participating in the All Comers Choir. The choir rehearses Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6:45 P.M. in the church sanctuary.
If you are interested in singing in Chamber Choir, please contact our Choir Director, Mitch Davey, to schedule a brief audition. The audition is low stress – you will be one-on-one with Mitch who will run you through some exercises to test range, timbre, sight reading, and music reading skills. You will also be asked to sing part of a song of your choosing unaccompanied (1 minute max).
All Comers Choir
The All Comers Choir is comprised of all the singers in the UUCE Choir Program from both Sanctuary Choir and the Chamber Singers. The purpose of this choir is to bring the choir community together to make music. All Comers Choir provides music for Sunday service once a month.
