Zoom and Multi-Platform Meetings

Community members can connect both in-person and online at many of our meetings and events. From Worship Services to Small Group Connection Circles, we offer an online attendance option to make our meetings and events more accessible and inclusive.

How to add an online meeting to our calendar

When you make a Room Request through our Full Facility Calendar, select one of the two Zoom location options when submitting your request. For meetings you would like to have hosted by UUCE, select “Zoom, UUCE Hosted.” Our administrator will create the Zoom Meeting, and send you the details. If the meeting or webinar is hosted on a personal account, select “Zoom, Personal” and if the meeting is open to drop-in attendance, include the join link or meeting ID and passcode.

How to join an online or multi-platform meeting

If you’re joining from home, go to our Full Facility Calendar, or open up your most recent copy of the Weekly Connections Newsletter. Meetings and events that are open to drop-in attendance, and have an online component will include a link for attendees to join on Zoom.

If you’re joining from UUCE using a Portal TV Cart, all you’ll need is the Meeting ID and Passcode for the Zoom meeting or webinar to which you’re connecting.

How to make your meeting multi-platform

If you’re hosting a meeting at church and would like to create space for folks to join from Zoom, include that in the “Note to Calendar Administrator” field in your Room Request through our Full Facility Calendar.  Please indicate if you intend to host the meeting on a personal Zoom account, or would like UUCE to create and host the meeting.

When you receive confirmation of your event being added to the calendar, you’ll also receive the Meeting ID and Passcode required to join your meeting using the Portal TV Cart. The carts each offer a Portal TV device, with a camera and microphone, and a 55″ TV where your Zoom attendees will appear. They are user friendly, and we are happy to provide training to help you get connected.
