Organ Music
Our Organ
The Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene is incredibly thankful to have a baroque pipe organ on loan from the University of Oregon for our use in the greater UUCE community, as a resource in the organ concert community, and for practice by UO organ students. The pipe organ was built in 1969 by German builder E.F. Walcher. It is particularly suited towards early baroque German repertoire, and is unique among the other pipe organs in Eugene, OR. It has 723 pipes all housed within the case of the organ, two keyboards and pedals, 13 ranks and 9 registers. Its previous owner, Raymond Anderson, donated it to the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance for their pipe organ students, and UUCE is the organ’s caretaker. As a teaching church, UUCE sees this as an opportunity for building collaborative bridges with the university and its students.
