Community Offerings

The Community Offering Committee organizes donations to nonprofits that embody our congregation’s principles and allow us to practice generosity. Each month, one organization is chosen to receive all of our contributions for every Sunday in that month.

This Month's Community Offering Receipient

Every Child, Lane County

Each Sunday in December, the Offering will be given to the Lane County chapter of Every Child, an Oregon-wide organization that provides supplemental support to foster families.

Last year, 1,530 children spent time in foster care in Lane County. Of those, 70% spent time in more than one foster home, and many were split from their siblings. Oregon’s Department of Human Services (DHS) works to care for children and families in crisis, but is often left with few resources for volunteer and foster parent recruitment efforts. This is where Every Child steps in. Since their founding in 2015, they have aimed to provide love, care, and support for vulnerable children and families in Lane County and all across Oregon. Through their efforts, they prevent children from being left without the care, comfort, and safety of a loving home during times of trauma, transition, and uncertainty. For example, their “My NeighbOR” initiative mobilizes caring community members to meet the unique, pressing, and tangible needs of Lane County families. In 2021, they distributed $17,000 in tangible goods to foster children’s needs.
