Choir Director (half-time)
The choir director will develop and sustain a vibrant choral program offering a variety of opportunities for participation by both performers and members of the Music Committee. Responsibilities include: rehearsing and training UUCE choirs; researching, ordering, and scheduling appropriate music to enhance worship themes; directing the choirs in at least three services a month from September to mid-June. They will solicit volunteer musicians from the congregation as necessary for performing choral programs and hire a University of Oregon singing intern if necessary, depending on the budget. The choir director will own the copyright to any work they compose or arrange.
The choir director will develop a choir calendar showing the dates each choir will practice and perform and the associated repertoire. They will oversee the maintenance of the music library with the work done by volunteers, supervise the accompanist, and submit articles for publication to the congregation as needed.
Additional responsibilities include: attendance at staff and music committee meetings; submission of monthly reports specifying paid leaves; submission of annual budget requests; and maintenance of expense records.
