I like Václav Havel’s definition of HOPE: “…not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.”
He was a dissident in Czechoslovakia, a playwrite. Housed by the Unitarian Church in Prague, the Velvet Revolution he helped lead non-violently overcame Communist governance and established a parliamentary republic.
Reflection: no matter how it turns out, what gives you hope? What just makes common sense to you? Perhaps you will list a few of these, and add to it over time.
